Questions that we pass like old songbooks and sleeping people in the ping-pong room. Why do some kneel in one church while others stand in a circle in another? Symbolism, ingrained traditions, patterns, rituals, liturgy – who and why invented all of this, and what does God actually make of it? Do they influence our lives and (un)belief? Do they become senseless and dormant when we don’t know their meaning?

At the end of Indian summer, Travná will be immersed in orange sunbeams, midnight pudding, and the theme “Because Because” with Dan Heller, an evangelical pastor who enjoys visiting the Diakonie, a psychology enthusiast, a lover of classical and modern spiritual music, and a member of two advisory boards of the Synodal Council of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (advisory board for liturgy and advisory board for church music and songs). Oh, and we’ll probably also play some recordings from Travná’s recording event.

26.-29.10.
